Tech 2 Motorsports was founded in October of 2002, specializing in mainly Honda and Acura performance parts. We started out the company thru our extensive club and pro racing experiences. Having the need for quality performance parts and needing them in a timely fashion we had decided to start our own company.
We at Tech 2 Motorsports started out as a family in Regional racing with the San Francisco SCCA Region. Carlos was the first to start racing in 1998 with his Datsun 510. He had a lot of fun using a unique older car and gain racing experience. He was named the "Rookie of the Year" along with many podium finishes. Next Carlos went on to driving a Spec. Miata for the following years.
Andrew was next in line to race along side his dad in 1999. He started at the age of sixteen shortly after he received his driver's license. Over the course of one and a half years he was able to develop his racing skills driving his Datsun 510 and Spec. Miata. He also was able to achieve 5 podium victories and one track record set at Sears Point. Along with winning, Andrew won the 2001 Pacific Coast Run offs in his Spec Miata at the age of 18. Andrew was named the youngest driver to ever win this race. SCCA had also ended the season in rewarding him with "The most Improved Driver" award.
By 2002 Christina the youngest in the family joined the team in getting her racing license by the age of 16 like her brother. She drove her Spec. Miata along side with her Dad and Andrew. Last but not least, Susan continues to be the behind the scenes in Tech support for the team.
We took our knowledge and skills from club and Pro racing in the Speed World Challenge Series with our Acura Integra Type R Touring car. Using all the knowledge we gained we now want to use this to tune our street cars and race cars to maximize their performance.
2JZSWAP was born soon after doing swaps in the 240SX S13 and S14, RX7 FD and RX7 FC 350Z/G35 and lastly the retro Datsun 240Z/280Z.
